2007 Events

Nov. 15:  Christmas in the Patch.  This annual event is the beginning of the holiday season.  The Lighting of the star topped Derricks and giant Christmas tree takes place as well as entertainment for the family. Downtown Kilgore.  6:00 p.m.  Free. 

Nov. 15 – Jan. 1 (Nightly):  View more than 70 holiday- lighted, star-topped derricks throughout the city, with the larges concentration at the World’s Richest Acre.  Free.

Nov. 23 - Dec. 24th - Danville Farms.  Cut your own Christmas tree, located on Danville Rd.  Opens the first weekend after Thanksgiving.  903-984-5022

Nov. 27 - City of Kilgore Nighttime Christmas Parade:  This annual event usually has over 100 entries, including Santa Claus.  Downtown Kilgore beginning at 6:30 p.m.  Free.

Dec. 6:  Open House at Historic Public Library.  301 N. Henderson Blvd.  7:00 – 8:30 p.m.  Free

Dec. 6-8:  Drive thru Living Nativity Scene.  Forest Home Baptist Church.  South Danville Road.  6-9 p.m. Free

Dec. 7:  Holiday Happenings in Historic Homes.  Tour some of the historic homes plus a concert at Kilgore College   4:30 – 7:30 p.m.  Admission: $10.00

Dec. 14-15 - Snow in Kilgore.  The Kilgore Chamber of Commerce will have a snow hill for everyone to slide down beginning at 5:00 p.m. on the 14th and once again on the 15th beginning at 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.  Come join the fun.  Free

Dec. 14-15 - Heritage Square.  Downtown Kilgore.  Friday and Saturday night.  Shop at local merchants and activities include local entertainment, 35 foot Christmas tree, and, carriage rides.  903-984-5022
