2007 Events

Nov. 21: Wonderland of Lights Official Lighting Ceremony. More than 10 million lights illuminated in a dazzling display.

Nov. 21-Dec. 30: Take a tour of the lights. Take a narrated bus tour of the downtown and residential areas or a horse-drawn carriage ride in the downtown area. Tours leave nightly from the downtown information center. $10 per person.

Nov. 21-Dec. 31: Outdoor Ice-Skating! Enjoy outdoor ice-skating on the downtown square seven days a week.  4-10 p.m. (weather permitting) $10.

Nov. 23-24; Nov. 30-Dec. 1; Dec. 7-8; Dec. 14-15: Holiday Home Tours.  Step back in time; enjoy the pleasures of an old-fashioned East Texas Christmas. Bus groups available any night with step-on guide.

Nov. 23-Dec. 23: Visit with Santa on the downtown square. Mon-Sat.  Photo with Santa $5.

Nov. 30 -Marshall Regional Arts Council & ETBU “Voices of Christmas” and Handel’s Messiah.  903-935-4484.

Nov. 30 & Dec. 1: Heart & Hands Quilt Show–Marshall Visual Arts Center.

Dec. 1: Cowboy Breakfast. Y’all come enjoy a chuck wagon breakfast and lots of East Texas style entertainment, East Texas Conference Center. Special guest–Pake McEntire. 7:30-10:30 a.m. $7.

Dec. 2: Wonderland Concert. Featuring Ivan Parker, Marshall High School Auditorium. 3 p.m.

Dec. 7: Marshall Regional Arts Council and ETBU “The Sounds of the Seasons” East Texas Baptist University Symphonic Band. 903-935-4484.

Dec. 8: Mar-Tex Lions Club Annual Lighted Christmas Parade. More than 100 entries covered with lights sparkle in the downtown square. 6 p.m.- entry fee.

Dec. 8:  Second Saturday Christmas Marketfest. Downtown Marshall.

Dec. 13: Wonderland Run. Downtown Square. 6:30 p.m. $.

Dec. 16: Uncertain, Texas Annual Floating Christmas Parade on Caddo Lake.

Dec. 31: Light Up the New Year on the downtown square with live bands and a Times Square-East Texas-style ball drop as midnight approaches.

Tues., Thurs., Fri. & -Sat. Evenings: Listen and watch live entertainment at Memorial City Hall Auditorium. You’ll enjoy a blend of holiday music performed by soloists and various groups.

On-Going Events

Marshall also offers driving tours, shopping, dining, museums, and potteries. Step-on guide service is available to groups of 15 or more. $.
