Nov. 20: Christmas in the Patch. This annual event is the beginning of the holiday season. The lighting of over 75 star-topped Oil Derricks and giant Christmas tree takes place as well as entertainment for the family. Downtown Kilgore. 6 p.m.
Nov. 20- Jan. 1 (Nightly): View more than 75 holiday-lighted, star-topped Oil Derricks throughout the city, with the largest concentration at the World’s Richest Acre.
Nov. 28-Dec. 21: Danville Christmas Tree Farm. Largest selection of cut your own Christmas trees. Opens the first weekend after Thanksgiving.
December 2008
Dec. 2: City of Kilgore Nighttime Christmas Parade. The largest night time Parade in East Texas. Downtown Kilgore. 6:30 p.m.
Dec. 6: Holiday Happenings in Historic Homes. Tour some of the historic homes.
Dec. 9: Open House at Historic Public Library. 301 N. Henderson Blvd. 7-8:30 p.m.
Dec. 12-13: Winterfest and Mt. Kilgore Snow Hill. Activities for the whole family including entertainment, visit with Santa, carriage rides, train rides, holiday shopping. View the largest concentration of holiday lighted Oil Derricks. Experience the thrill of Mt. Kilgore Snow Hill. Downtown.
Dec. 12-13: Mt. Kilgore Snow Hill. Come enjoy sliding down the Mt. Kilgore Snow Hill provided by the Kilgore Chamber of Commerce, December 12 and 13.
