The Best just got Better – new events, new and expanded programs, new displays, and new lighting!
Visit the festival that started it all in Texas – Marshall’s holiday extravaganza called the Wonderland of Lights. The annual festival, boasting over one million lights and hundreds of light displays, annually kicks off the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving and runs through December 31st and this year includes a Special Late Night New Year’s Edition of ice skating to help you ring in 2011. Also new for 2010/2011 – our outdoor ice skating has been extended to January 17, 2011.
New, New, New - This festival rivals any seasonal lighting program in the country and has been greatly expanded this year to include new additions downtown, such as a Mini-Express Trackless Train Ride, outdoor Ice Dancing Performances, Celebrity Chef Cooking Classes, a 15 ft Giant Texas Sized Snow Globe for a great photo setting, Santa & Elves strolling the streets at night for picture opportunities, a Petting Zoo with Reindeer and Street Performers who will be singing and interacting with visitors – and which will all join a Wonderland favorite, Santa’s Workshop, to add to your holiday season experience in Marshall, Texas!
The Historic Harrison County Courthouse, located at the center of the Downtown Square is the festival's "Crown Jewel" - decorated with over 125,000 tiny white lights. Enjoy live entertainment on the historic downtown square, Battle of the Choirs, a Cowboy Breakfast, Church of the Bells, carriage rides, guided bus tours to neighborhoods with elaborate decorations and lighted scenes, our famous “lighted” Christmas Parade and the only outdoor ice skating rink in the region!
Marshall’s “newly expanded” Wonderland of Lights is a must see this season, so load up your friends and families and experience a true “hometown” Christmas atmosphere. Come see why Marshall is so famous!
