Holiday festivities spring into action at the Louisiana Boardwalk

Shreveport-Bossier City, LAThe Louisiana Boardwalk will be hosting holiday events nearly every day between Thanksgiving and the end of the year. All season long, from November 20 to January 1, Boardwalk shoppers will enjoy the Nightly Boardwalk Blizzard as well as the Feature Fountain. The Blizzard causes snow nightly at the Boardwalk, making it the only place in Louisiana guaranteed to snow. The Feature Fountain will showcase lighted fountains choreographed to classical holiday tunes, playing at the top of every hour. Also, beginning on November 23, visitors will be able to see Santa Claus and his reindeer Prancer and have photos taken.

Below is a list of some of the events that the Louisiana Boardwalk will be hosting this holiday season.

Tuesday, November 20 – Louisiana Boardwalk Christmas tree lighting ceremony. Santa Claus will help the Louisiana Boardwalk throw the switch on the 40-foot Christmas tree adorned with more than 5,000 lights, kicking off the holiday season at the Louisiana Boardwalk. There will be live music, holiday entertainment, carolers and more, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Friday, November 23 - Sunday, December 23 - Wrapping for a Cause & Elf Express. Gift wrapping for donations and package delivery from store to your vehicle by various non-profit organizations.

Saturday, November 24 – Santa Claus Parade at the Boardwalk. Marching bands, amazing floats, convertible cars and more are part of this annual tradition at the Louisiana Boardwalk. The parade begins at 3:00 p.m.

Saturday, December 8 and Saturday, December 15 - Breakfast with Santa Claus. Have a tasty breakfast treat with the jolliest elf of all, St. Nick. Breakfast starts at 9:30 a.m.

Saturday, December 29 – PetroSun Independence Bowl Pep Rally and Battle of the Bands at the Boardwalk. The PetroSun Independence Bowl is a post-season college football bowl game with the Southeastern Conference and Big 12 match-up. The pep rally and Battle of the Bands begin 6:00 p.m.

Monday, December 31 - New Year's Eve celebration at RWB Night Club. Live music, midnight champagne toast, balloon drop and more will help ring in the New Year! Doors open at 9 p.m.
