DSU ANNOUNCES SHUTTLE SERVICE, PARKING OPTIONS AND STREET CLOSURES FOR ROCKETS OVER THE RED

Shuttle Service

SporTran will provide free round-trip shuttle service from Shreve City to Festival Plaza from 4:30pm until 9:30pm for the 10th annual Rockets Over the Red, which takes place in Shreveport’s RiverView Park Saturday, November 24, 2007.  SporTran will pick up passengers behind Wendy’s in Shreve City and drop off in front of Festival Plaza.  To return to Shreve City, festival attendees can catch the bus at the same place they were dropped off, in front of Festival Plaza. The shuttles will run every 15 minutes.

Parking

For anyone who prefers to drive downtown, AmSouth Garage will be open to the public, free of charge.  Additional free parking is available at meters throughout downtown.  Handicapped parking is available behind RiverView Theater.

Street Closures

Beginning at 2pm on November 24, the following downtown streets will be closed until after the event:

• Crockett from Market to Clyde Fant
• Clyde Fant from Lake to Milam
• Commerce from Milam to Crockett

The Texas Street Bridge will be closed to vehicles from 6pm until 10pm and to pedestrians from 7am until 10pm.

No personal fireworks, pets or glass bottles are allowed on festival grounds.
