Shreveport - Bossier
Shreveport and Bossier bet you’ll have an amazing time for the holidays in the sister cities gaming and playing. The annual Louisiana Boardwalk Outlet’s Christmas Tree Lighting event ushers in the Christmas season. The crowds are awed by the bright lights on the largest outdoor tree in northwest Louisiana being flipped on and the fun gets dialed up with Santa, a “snow blizzard” and entertainment at this event.
Back by popular demand, Rockets Over the Red lights the riverfront up in November. Both sides of the riverfront are available for public viewing. Ample parking, restaurants and shopping make the Boardwalk an ideal place for families to view the fireworks.
For three decades, families have loaded up their vehicles and toured Christmas in Roseland, a 60-acre park filled with sparkling lights, 8-foot-tall community Christmas cards, carolers, a shopping bazaar, train rides, “snow” and pictures with Santa.
Speaking of Santa! Santa appears in some unusual places in Shreveport and Bossier, including Santa’s Wonderland at Bass Pro Shops and Christmas on Caddo Fireworks Festival.
The sister cities offer plenty of shopping opportunities, too. Les Boutiques de Noel is an annual holiday marketplace that features more than 100 vendors at the Bossier Civic Center. Shop for Louisiana specialty gifts at the Enchanted Garden, located among other unique shops in the Line Avenue Shopping District. The Shops at Bellemead shopping district in Shreveport features great local eateries nestled among shops and storefronts.
Why not shop and dine? Pick up cool gifts and sweet treats at Ralph & Kacoos, Art Space, Biscotti’s at Lewis Gifts, Wine Country Bistro and other great local eateries. Download the Eat Here: A Food Lover’s Guide to Shreveport-Bossier.
