FAQs

Where do I purchase tickets to the Louisiana Holiday Trail of Lights?
There isn’t one particular ticket to the trail. The trail is a collection of neighboring cities along I-20 and I-49. The cities on I-20 run east and west and include Shreveport-BossierMindenMonroe-West Monroe. I-49 runs north and south and includes Natchitoches and Alexandria/Pineville.

How long will the lights be on?
Generally, the lights in each of the cities are turned on close to Thanksgiving. The lights typically stay turned on until the New Year with concurrent events during that same time.

If I’m coming in from out-of-town where should I stay and how can I get to the other cities?
The best thing to do is pick your favorite activity and book a hotel room in that city. From there, plan the rest of your trip by venturing out to the other neighboring cities. If you come in on a Friday and leave on Sunday, you would have time to visit each city and enjoy a holiday event or attraction. If the hotels in the city that you want to stay are booked, pick a neighboring city, because each city is only about one hour from another.

Should I buy advanced tickets to holiday shows and performances or do you recommend I get them when I arrive?
We recommend you buy tickets in advance. Some shows sell out because there are limited show times. Be sure to call the performance venue in advance and book with them directly. We’d also suggest you confirm details with all venues again just before you travel.
